Learn how to check whether a website is down or reachable

Check website availability by URL

Enter any website URL or domain to verify whether the site is reachable right now. Website Down Checker helps you confirm if an outage is real or if the issue is on your side, such as Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, or browser settings. It’s built for support teams, marketers, sales reps, and operators who need a quick, reliable status check before escalating an incident.

Diagnose the reason with clear status details

Get a concise report that explains why a site is Up or Down, including common causes like HTTP 200/301/302 responses, timeouts, DNS failures, SSL errors, or connection refusals. When available, it also returns the HTTP status code and response time in milliseconds. If you paste only a domain, it tries https first and then http to reduce false downtime reports.

Triage incidents and reduce back-and-forth

Use the output to decide your next step: retry later, switch networks, disable VPN, or contact the site owner or hosting provider with concrete evidence. Support and IT teams can paste the status report into tickets, while account managers can share it with customers to set expectations. The standardized fields make it easy to compare checks across multiple sites and times.

Monitor critical pages during launches and campaigns

Run quick checks before and during product launches, email sends, paid ads, or major content updates to confirm landing pages are reachable. Ecommerce and operations teams can validate storefront uptime, while marketing teams can verify tracking and redirects are responding as expected. The response time and status code help spot slowdowns or misconfigured redirects before they impact conversions.
