Convert Web Tables into Structured Data

Collect tabular data from websites without manual copy-paste. Thunderbit’s Chrome extension scrapes pages and subpages, including PDFs, docs, and images, then extracts structured fields and formats them into clean tables. After extraction, Thunderbit can summarize, categorize, and standardize your data as it builds the dataset. Export results to Google Sheets, Airtable, or Notion to keep workflows automated and shareable.

Learn how to convert HTML tables into Excel spreadsheets

Convert HTML table code into an Excel-ready sheet

Paste well-formed HTML that includes one or more <table> elements, and the converter turns the first table into a structured spreadsheet. It preserves the original row and column layout, making it useful for anyone who needs to move tabular data from web pages into Excel for analysis, reporting, or sharing. This is ideal for sales ops, ecommerce teams, analysts, and admins who work with web-based tables.

Choose output format and name your worksheet

Select the Excel format you need (XLSX or XLS) and optionally set a custom sheet name such as “Table 1” or a project label. The tool maps headers from <th> cells when available, or uses the first row as headers when needed, keeping the table structure consistent. This helps teams standardize exports, reduce manual cleanup, and keep files organized across recurring workflows.

Build clean datasets from copied web tables

Use the converter when a website blocks easy copy-paste into Excel or when copied tables lose alignment. Grab the page’s HTML table markup, convert it, then download an Excel file that keeps columns intact. This supports tasks like compiling lead lists, collecting product specs, or consolidating directory data into a spreadsheet where you can filter, sort, and validate entries before importing into other systems.

Prepare exports for reporting and downstream tools

After conversion, the Excel file can be used as a source for weekly reports, audits, and data handoffs. Teams can review the table in Excel, apply formatting, and then upload or copy the cleaned data into tools like Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, or a CRM. This is helpful when you need a repeatable way to turn web-based tables into a shareable, spreadsheet-friendly format.
